Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 294

I have not made a card for a challenge in a LONG time but needed some thank you cards for the parents of my Girl Scout troop.  They were so generous at Christmas and end of the year and chipped in and purchased me gift cards and gave me other little gifts so I wanted to send them a note of thanks.  It is nice to get unexpected gifts 😊  I used Stampin Up's Sealed with Love stamp set and their Lovee Notes Framelits Dies.  I really enjoyed using them for the first time.  I used my vagabond to cut the framelits, which I have only used once, so it was a fun time using items that just sit around and never get used!

Here is their sketch design:

Here is my submission for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #294:

More sewing fun!

I have really enjoyed sewing over these last several months.  I have sew many simple things including dresses for my girls, skirts, pillow covers for my boys and a Jeep pillow for my hubby.  One of my most favorite items though is this cute little baby pillow case dress and diaper cover for a friend.  The pillow case dress is using a pattern I found online (versus just a stand rectangle) at Pretty Prudent Pillow Case Dress, then I used a pattern a found on a website I have visited SO much since I started sewing for the diaper cover.  It is Made Everyday by Dana diaper cover .

Today I was ready to mail the little outfit so I thought I would use my Cricut to make a cute quick card.  I have not done this in a while but it turned out cute even though I did not have a light pink paper for the face :)  I sure hope she loves it and her little girl looks adorable in it.  I wish I had started sewing many years ago when my girls were small!

Here is the outfit and card:

Here are some of the other projects I have made since I last posted :)

These are the dresses I made for the Father Daughter Dance that the girls attended with their stepdad :)

For Valentine's Day I made my hubby a jeep card with an image I bought online from Apex I believe.
I made the girls skirts and we cut out images to iron on their shirts from my Cricut and I cut out Emoji's to put in as a surprise note for their lunch :)

Easter T shirt dresses (I also made St. Patrick Days ones but no pictures for some reason)

Stars Wars fabric Easter basket for a friend's daughter :) Watched a video from The Crafty Gemini for this one.  LOVE her.

Used my Cricut to cut out some iron on for a onesie and did a quick two fabric with edging baby blanket for a co-workers babyshower

Made my Mady Moo a Mike Wazowski hooded towel for her birthday.  Was definitely he favorite gift which of course melted my heart.

Also made her a ladybug dress to wear for her Fairy Garden birthday party where we made individual fairy gardens :)

I made my hubby a cute little Jeep fabric pillow because he loves Jeeps and always steals my little pillow :)

I know this is a lot and is not everything I have created over these last 6+ months but just a snippet of what I have been up to craft wise :)  I am hoping with summer and less evening activities I can make some more stuff soon.

Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting!

So much going on!

Wow, it is crazy how fast time goes :)  Well lets see I have been able to craft a bit since September but not a ton.  Once we moved my craftroom to the garage it has not left me a lot of chances to get out there because it is detached so it is COLD!  I did bring my sewing machine and Cricut inside to my small desk area in the kitchen.  Yes, I said sewing machine.  I bought it many many years ago and just started using it a couple of months ago.  I am addicted.  I am LOVING creating with it.  I thought I would just do a dump post of some sewing/crafting/anything projects I have done over the last few months :)

Thanksgiving:
I made some simple skirts for the girls, they wore leggings underneath.  I also used some leftover fabric and made a table runner.

Christmas:
I made a double layered Christmas skirt and then used my Cricut to cut out a Christmas tree.  I think my favorite part of this was that the girls LOVED them and my Mady was so proud to tell her teacher that her mom made her outfit for her.  So very sweet.

Teacher gifts:
I am working on some easy teacher gifts this year.  My DD's helped put them together (although I am sure I did most of it :)).  I ordered some little containers from 31 Gifts and put in hot chocolate, disposable cups, marshmallows, candy canes, candy and some chocolate spoons I made.  I love that the girls are old enough to help!  The girls also helped make Rudolph water bottles for their class party.

The boys are doing well but not willing to let me sew them much.  Ryan did let me sew a Thanksgiving patterned pocked on a tshirt of his but that was about it :)

Wood projects!

Unfortunately with the kids keeping me busy I do not get a lot of time in my craft room.  My late husband had built a detached oversized two car garage many years ago before he passed and I decided recently to move my craft room out there, to allow my boys to each have their own room.  I have to admit I was so sad to leave my pink and purple craft room but I know my oldest is so excited to have his own room so it is worth it (my girls will still have to share but get to move into the BIG room the boys used to share).  Since I am not in my craft room much and my stuff is now a mess in the garage until I get it organized I have used my "free" time to try my hand at some wood working projects.  I am not a prefectionist in any project so these are rough jobs but I am still proud of them.

The first is an idea from Home Depot.  It is a simple beverage stand  I used stain on the legs and shelves and chalkboard paint on the top :)  I cut enough wood except for the top to make two.  I have not bought another piece to cut the top for the second one but hope to do that sometime in the next couple of months.

The second is a DIY from http://alwaysneverdone.com/2015/02/25-sofa-table-tutorial/
I have been wanting something for behind my sofa and my love seat.  I made the sofa table this weekend.  I will work on the love seat one (same one but smaller) next weekend.  I used a gray stain so that they would match the theme of my small living room.  My oldest son helped with some on Saturday and my girls helped stain it Sunday.  While they are not perfect, I am excited I can say I made them myself and that they are useful!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a crafty day!

Can't stop cutting iron on's!

I bought myself the Cricut Explore Air a while back and it just sat and sat and sat unused.  I just have not had time to use it, however, my new husband :) asked me to get us shirts for our familymoon to Disney so I decided to make them.  Well then I decided to make the girls shirts since we were going to be there for Easter (my boys would NOT wear shirts if I made them).  Then I thought I would make my Jeep obsessed hubby a funny shirt.  Lastly (for now)  I thought well I can make more so I made myself a sweatshirt to wear to all of my sons many many baseball games :)  Needless to say I am OBSESSED with cutting iron on material with my Cricut.  I love being able to use the Cricut Craft Room app to design what I want and then cut it later.  I love that the purchases on the app use ITunes gift cards because I can get those for good deals especially around the holidays.

While I am sad I do not get to craft as often as I like I am so happy when I do get a chance everyone once in a while :)

Here are the pics of my shirts and sweatshirt :)

I got married!

Hello everyone.  I cannot believe it but I got remarried on March 25, 2016.  When my first husband passed I was only 35 but I did not think I would ever be able to love someone the way I loved him.  Especially after being by his side through his illness.  That was very draining but also rewarding.  I feel so blessed to have been his wife and to be the mother of his children.

When Ricardo and I first started hanging out we were just friends but I feel in love with his sense of humor and his love for my children.  I am also so blessed that he new Ed and is able to share memories with us and is not ever jealous of my ongoing love for Ed.  He is very supportive of all of us keeping Ed in our hearts and lives.  I am blessed.

On March 25th we were married in front of family and friends.  I have joked the wedding was really for our girls (my 2 and his 1) as they had an idea of what they expected a wedding to be and they were not going for us just going to the courthouse.  Neither of us did a big deal for our first wedding so this was nice to do.  We were doing a beer and cupcake casual reception so I decided to do growlers as our centerpieces.  I wanted to put something in them so I did a pin wheel using our gray and coral colors and using the We R Memory Keepers pin wheel punch.  I loved them. I also ordered some labels online to put on them.  We ordered koozies online as a party favors.

Instead of a honeymoon we did a familymoon to Disney :)  I used my Cricut Explore Air to make us some shirts!  They will be in tomorrow's post.

Here are the centerpieces :)  I think they turned out cute and were not too difficult thank goodness!

I don't have the wedding pics from the photographer yet but here are a few from my phone :)

Happy crafting!

A Quick Sympathy Card

Hello.  With in the last week my fiance (yikes-yes I just typed that-I am engaged to be married in March) lost his best friend in a car accident and a family on my son's baseball team lost their daughter/step-daughter in a car accident.  I wanted to mail a card because while notes on Facebook or text, nothing beats a handwritten card.  I received so many while Ed was sick and when he passed and while they make me tear up, I still love to read them from time to time.  I had some pre-cut cards that I bought on sale a while back so I just added a piece of paper using some button brads, a tag that I used some Recollection paper punches to make (two sizes, one in a striped paper and one in white) and I used a My Creative Time sentiment on the white tag, I then just used some chalk to color the white paper.  I made two of the exact same cards just to make it easy.

Loss is never easy and of course helping Ricardo get through this brings up a lot for me, however, it also reminds me to rely on my Faith.  I am so blessed to have that Faith, it pulls me though each day, good and bad.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Crafting!
