Quick Girly Birthday Card

Yesterday I received a birthday party invitation for my girls to a neighbors house with about 3 hours notice. Of course we wanted to go so I quickly made a card and luckily had a small gift already in the house (see there hubby-it is not all bad to keep things I bought and considered taking back because they sometimes get used :)). Here is the girly card I made, I used Once Upon a Princess. TFL.

A Sympathy Card

Unfortunately my son's 4th grade teacher lost her mother last week.  I wanted to make her card to let her know our family it thinking of her and praying for her and her mother.  I used my Gypsy to create this card, I used Lyrical Letters for the words and Blackletter for the "windows".  I used stickles to give it some shine.  TFL.

Out of tragedy comes togetherness

Last week some good friends of ours lost their house and pets to an electrical fire.  It was very surreal for us so I cannot even imagine how it was/is for them.  My sister-in-law and another friend quickly organized a Spagetti Dinner Donation Party for the family (I mean quickly as in 24 hours).  I was asked to make the donation box and I offered to bring desserts.  I am not sure how much money/gift/cards/donations came out of it but just from what I saw from our group of friends it was a lot and I know it meant a lot to the family that their friends were there supporting them through this tough time.  So it made me think of a couple of things: count your blessings and remember that it is not the materials in our life that matter.  Here is a picture of the donation box.  I wrapped a box in plain (as plain as I could find) wrapping paper.  I then used my Gypsy to weld the letters together from Opposites Attract and used the arrow from Gypsy Wanderings.  You cannot see it but I made a hole in the top of the box and put donations under the hole also.  TFL.

My baby turned 3!

My daughter (3rd child out of 4) turned 3 last Friday and she wanted a Ballerina Princess Party. I made one small sign as test of using my Gypsy (love it), I made cute little crown out of gum paste for her actual birthday (Friday) and then made a cute little party hat, and some cupcakes for the party we had on Sunday.  I also ordered some dairy free white candy to melt and I tinted it pink and made lollipops using a mold.  I really cannot believe she is 3 already. My youngest, who is 19 months, also enjoyed the Princess theme!  My boys were hiding from pictures most of the day so not too many of them this batch!  TFL.

Hamburger Birthday Card

My friend Stephannie's son turned 13 and she gave me the idea to get him a 5 Guys gift card (who doesn't love 5 guys!).  I thought immediately that I had to make some sort of hamburger card to go with it!  I used Locker Talk for the cutouts and my new GYPSY (got it for Christmas and LOVE it).  I also used glossy accents for the seasame seeds, you cannot see those as well as I thought but I like the glossy accents and will use it again the future.  TFL!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This year we decided to stay home for New Years Eve so I made everyone do a couple of activites, which they all willingly participated in :)  We made our own party hats (color and taped some paper) and I covered sugar cones in melted chocolate and then the kids (and the hubby and I) decorated them to make them look like party hats...then we ATE them.  YUM!  TFL.
