A Mini Album: The Sweetest Story Ever Told

As you may know from reading my posts over the last few months, my husband Ed was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer back in May.  He has been going through chemo and is now having surgery tomorrow. I wanted him to have something to keep at the hospital to remind him of us because he will be in there for 5 days.  I also think he can take it to chemo with him or just look at it whenever he is having a bad day to remind him how much we love him.  This may be my first "real" mini album.  I used the Cricut Artiste and the chip board that came with it.  I used some paper I had, I think from a few different stacks and I used a few different stamps from Pink by Design as well as one $1 stamp (worlds best dad).  I also had the kids each write him a note and I wrote one as well (I helped my 3 year old, she help my hand as we wrote it together). He cried when he opened it and looked through it.  So did I.

I can only pray that one day we both look back at this album and all of the worry we had and be thankful for how much it made us appreciate what we have.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a crafty and blessed day!

Monsterific Birthday!

I was in AC Moore last week and noticed they had Mini Monsters on sale.  Although my crafting budget is very limited these days I had some birthday money from my sister in law so I decided to buy it!   I had recently bought some Peachy Keen stamps too (with birthday money -gotta love my in-laws :)) and I needed a 5th birthday card for a friend of my daughters who is having a party this week.  What a great opportunity to use my new goodies!

I used the cartridge to cut two monsters and then I used to the stamp set to add the cute faces.  I used my Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch for the top border and stamped it with a cheapy $1 happy birthday stamp.  I also added the 5 all over the card since it is his fifth birthday.  I used an action wobble on the big guy (for the first time) which I think will be cute for the 5 year old boy.  I have enjoyed playing with it :)

I printed the sentiment on the computer using the chiller font in word.  It looks cute and not too scary, LOL.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a crafty day!

Mady's First Day of Preschool

So my youngest finally had her first day of preschool today.  She loved it although there were a few tears shed (mostly by me) but I think for her she really just whined for a second as I left.  When we left and I was crying a little my husband asked me if I wanted to go get a puppy.  I said why so I can have one more thing in the house who doesn't listen to what I say, LOL.  Maybe one day.  She was so happy when I picked her up and was telling me all about her day.

Last year when he sister went to preschool I decorated her bag by using my Imagine so I decided to break it out (it has not been used since last September...yikes) and decorate Mady's too.  It actually came out much better because I learned a lesson or two when I did Ally's last year.  I used Alphalicious for the letters and Best Friends for the little girl.  I think I may make my nieces some pillows this year for Christmas using this cartridge and the iron on.  It is so cute and really so easy.  It would be a good excuse to open my sewing machine that I have never used too!

Here is the bag:

I chose the little girl with the lipstick and girl power shirt because my Mady loves lip gloss but is a strong willed little mama who says she will play football, not be a cheerleader when she gets older.

Mady has not seen it yet but I know she will love it when I show her!

Here is picture of my littlest girl on her first day before the bag was decorated.

Thanks for stopping by, have a crafty day!
